Nokia’s Ovi Rebrands as “Nokia Services”

Nokia’s software line Ovi will soon undergo a name change. The Finland-based company has announced that the brand will be renamed as “Nokia Services,” which will be first introduced in upcoming devices in July and August.
The transition from Ovi to Nokia Services is expected to take full effect on 2012. The change is brought by Nokia’s partnership with Microsoft earlier this year, which includes a number of Nokia software, especially Ovi Maps, will become available in Windows Phone devices and other Microsoft’s services. It would make sense for Nokia to put its name on its services to prevent confusion among consumers.
