LG vs Apple

Since its announcement last month, the dual-core LG Optimus 2X has become one of the most highly anticipated upcoming Android handsets. While that may all change at this week’s Consumer Electronics ShowAndroid Arenahave uncovered a video of the Tegra 2 handset pitting itself against the iPhone 4 in a browser showdown.
The short clip shows off the super-fast speeds of LG‘s impending smartphone, which manages to render web pages faster than Apple‘s latest effort. However, with no word on what type of connection each phone is using, this test is by no means conclusive. Still, it does reveal that NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chip is fast, and that the LG Optimus 2X will arrive packing some pretty impressive horsepower.
While more details are expected to be revealed at CES 2011, we can also expect the LG Optimus 2X to arrive sporting a 4 inch WVGA capacitive display, Android 2.2 OS, an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video capture, HDMI and DLNA connectivity and up to 32GB of storage via microSD. No official pricing or release date is yet to be announced, but we can expect the 2X to hit UK shelves in Q1 this year.
