Comcast Unveils Xfinity TV App for Android

Comcast has released its Xfinity TV app for Android devices. This comes after the app became available for the iPad and iPhone. The app features basic functions such as remote controlling cable boxes, browsing TV listings according to area, scheduling DVR recordings, filtering content according to different TV aspects, and searching the video-on-demand library.
Other features like video streaming to the app and tuning to VOD on TV will be added eventually, which happened when the app was released on iOS.
The Xfinity TV app currently works on smartphones running on Android 2.1 and 2.2, except for AT&T HTC Aria. Although Comcast claims it may work on tablets too, the official support is not ready as of this posting.
Note that the app requires either a WiFi or 3G connection, a Comcast ID, and a compatible set-top box for TV and DVR control.
